About JakeLah

Born from the design philosophy of Jake Lah — founder of DAC and Helinox, and a pioneer of the global tent industry — JakeLah redefines what outdoor living can be. With over 30 years of evolution in structural engineering, aluminum technology, and human-centered design, JakeLah creates gear that transforms tents into homes, and campsites into meaningful experiences. More than materials, it’s Jake Lah’s deep understanding of real outdoor use that drives every design — from tents to chairs to shelters.

What Makes JakeLah Different?

Powered by DAC

Jake Lah founded DAC in 1988 to create the world’s most advanced aluminum — exceptionally strong and incredibly light. That achievement quickly drew the attention of leading outdoor brands around the world, including MSR, The North Face, Hilleberg, REI, Big Agnes and more. As DAC’s materials became the global standard, Jake gained over 30 years of hands-on experience in tent design and development. JakeLah continues that journey, combining next-generation DAC materials with expert-led design.

Featherlite Technology Pioneer

DAC created Featherlite — the world’s first ultralight tent pole — a breakthrough that set new standards for strength-to-weight performance and continues to lead the industry today. JakeLah gear is developed with direct access to DAC’s latest materials and engineering — ensuring each tent and shelter meets the highest standards of strength, weight, and reliability shaped by decades of innovation.

Wind-Tested to Withstand the Real Outdoors

At DAC headquarters, Jake Lah built a massive wind lab to simulate extreme outdoor environments. From solo tents to family shelters, every JakeLah tent is tested here for strength, stability, and real-world performance. Great design should be tested, shared, and trusted. That’s why the wind lab is open to anyone who wants to challenge and verify tent performance.

Featured Gear

Designed to offer maximum strength with minimum weight, JakeLah gear covers everything from ultralight tents for solo backpackers to versatile group shelters.

J.cot

Built with tough, water-resistant fabric and DAC aluminum legs, the J.cot balances light weight (8.8–9.9 lbs) with impressive load capacity (up to 330 lbs) — durable, compact, and ready for the outdoors.

J.cot tent

Weighing just 5.5 lbs, the J.cot Tent is built for backpacking and solo adventures. Its TR and Horn frame design creates a tall entryway for easy access, while a top ventilation window helps reduce condensation and keeps the space feeling open.

J.chair

The J.chair combines a supportive frame angle with precision stitching and DAC poles for lasting comfort without slipping. Weighing just 3.1 lbs, it packs down easily and supports up to 353 lbs.

J.crown

A 16.4-foot dome shelter with near-vertical walls and a 9-foot ceiling, the J.crown offers spacious comfort for small to mid-sized groups. Despite its size, it’s lightweight, wind-resistant, and can be set up by two people in about 20 minutes.

JakeLah Compatibility Guide

While it’s designed for JakeLah products, many items may also work with third-party gear of similar sizes. If your cot or tent has comparable dimensions, chances are it’ll work just fine! But please double-check measurements before use.
